Does anybody else think that's where the show was headed by the end of season five? Perhaps it's because they were the last two OCs standing, but they have some really sweet moments together, such as Fuller acting in an almost jealous manner over Hoffs' boyfriend. He also calls her "baby girl" in season three, and by season five, he calls her Jude, as opposed to Judy or Hoffs. I think it would've taken some doing (and a much stronger show to move it into a sixth season), but I think it could've worked.

I doubt that they would have written them as a couple. Hey and welcome to the board. Interesting handle where did you get that form?

I don't think it could have managed a sixth season myself. It was on its last legs what with Johnny, Peter and Dustin's departures and they were recycling storylines more often than not. McCann was basically a poor man's Hanson and the chemistry was no longer there between the characters. It seemed to me that they were sick themselves of 21 Jump Street and eventhough I love the show it was better it was replaced by The Simpsons really. Welcome to the forum Team Holler if you could introduce yourself in the introductions section that would be great: at21jumpstreet.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=introduce

I don't think it could have managed a sixth season myself. =============================== Yeah I agree. The show jumped the shark in the 5th season. It was on its last legs what with Johnny, Peter and Dustin's departures and they were recycling storylines more often than not. ==================================== Yeah last legs. Eventually it had no legs. ROFL! Yeah by the time the 5th season rolled around they were recycling the storylines! UGH! McCann was basically a poor man's Hanson ========================= Yeah your right but I love McCann. And Joey.

Yeah, it seems like they were getting really close to that. They'd make an attractive couple, although they should have gone there much sooner, maybe it would have made season 5 bearable . It was kind of disturbing how Mac was an obvious Hanson replacement, complete with his car. I mean, wtf? Lots of bad things going on there.

The sad thing is that I think McCann was a remotely likable character in his own right. But they were so obviously trying to make him Tom Hanson Junior that it didn't go over very well. Then they brought in Penhall's younger brother, and....geez. How did you hear about this site? IMDb, I believe. I'd say it was with the arrival of Booker and that godforsaken Gina. That's halfway through the third season, I think. Season four has some strong moments, but by season five, I think the producers were replaced by chimps - and stupid chimps at that. I think their biggest mistake was trying to keep Penhall and Hoffs w/McCann and Lil' Penhall. They could've let Penhall leave, put Hoffs in a more senior position (or a different department) and had Fuller continuing to run Jump Street.

It always amuses me how one person can like something so and another hate it lol! I liked Booker, he played off Hanson and Penhall well. As for Joey, the only ep on Season 5 that reminds me of a better 21 Jump Street is the one where Joey first comes back.
Maybe if the show had acknowledged where Hanson and Ioki had gone, or just got new characters in to start a new department with Fuller and Hoffs overseeing it could have been better? Though I doubt it since people had warmed to the original cast.
I haven't watched in ages but who was Gina?

Right, Gina Nemo as Dorothy. Penhall the eunuch was too much to take. I don't even remember much of season five, other than "Homegirls" arguably being the worst episode of the entire series.

I agree -- I didn't watch season 5 when it aired but seeing some episodes since -- it seemed like the chemistry was there and it could've gone in that direction, Hoffs and Fuller. . .I like both of them so much, I think it could've worked. They certainly had a good working relationship in the previous seasons, different type of bond than Hanson and Fuller had even.

It was kind of disturbing how Mac was an obvious Hanson replacement, complete with his car. I mean, wtf? Lots of bad things going on there. LOL, when I saw "Mac" in Hanson's car I was livid. It still pisses me off, lol. But I think maybe Mac could've worked if TPTB would've brought him in without trying to make him Hanson. Make him his own character. Plus, I think if we could've seen what happened to Hanson, people might've been more accepting of the new characters. To just act like Hanson had never existed was a slap in the face.

I agree, I know I've said this before but what they should've done was let Johnny out of the show before the 4th season (though, don't get me wrong, I love him in it but he was so miserble and being such a pain in the butt, lol), and kept Booker on instead. I would've been good with that. After my initial grief of Johnny leaving, of course. Then maybe try and pull in other characters if they felt that need.
