So, I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone got started watching the show, what you watched first, and whether you've finished all five seasons, or if not, where you are on it.
I started watching it some time after Sweeney Todd came out, because I thought Johnny was really hot in that movie (I have questionable logic, seeing as this was after I'd seen Pirates and gone "ehh, whatever"). I did my usual IMDb search on him and realized he did a TV show. So, I looked it up on fanpop, since that was where I got my TV episodes for Scrubs. They didn't have all of them, and I ended up watching Loc'd Out Part 1 as my introduction to the series. After that one, I was hooked. I think those are the most dramatic episodes out of the whole series, although there are a lot of good ones. After that, I had to see whatever I could. It was a little confusing, since I hadn't seen the pilot or anything, but I finally found that and decided to watch them in order. I've seen all the seasons, although I don't really like four or five.

I wasn;t born in the 80's to discover it myself, shame
I had to see everything johnny was in so yeah
I got season 3 first because it was the only one in the shop
then four, two, one five.
when I got one season I couldn't help but watch all the episodes in one day! So then, I had non stop dreams about it, yay!

21 Jump Street wasn't shown in the UK to my knowledge, even if it had been I wouldn't have been old enough to appreciate it.
I first saw it through being interested in Johnny Depp and seeing a music video on youtube based on the episode "Swallowed Alive". I bought Season 3 on a whim to see that episode but watched season 3 in order so the first ep I saw was " Fun with animals" and it remains one of my favourites.
I watched Season 3 with my sister in the space of a week and the next day went out and bought season 4 to find out what happened to Hanson.
I illegally downloaded Season 2 from a torrents site after that because it was never in the shops!
I got season 5 next as a birthday present and it took me sixth months to watch because it wasn't as good to me.
I got seasons 1 and 2 for Christmas a couple of years ago and watched Season 1 in one day lol.

Saw it when it first aired in 1987, by accident. I didn't see the pilot, and I can't even be sure which episode I saw first because I came across it by flipping channels and Johnny's face leaped out and I was, "Wow, what's this show and who is this hottie?" I think it might've been "Blindsided" but it's been so long that I can't really remember that for sure. . .all I know is I watched regularly and joyfully after that and when I saw "Mean Streets" at the end of the season I was just like -- wow. He (Johnny) is my new babe. I mean, I liked the show a lot but I'm not sure I would've watched it if Johnny hadn't caught my eye.
After that, I watched it faithfully, except for season 5. I couldn't -- I was too annoyed by how they'd "replaced" Hanson, plus I'd just had twins so I didn't really have the time to watch -- though if Johnny would've still been on, I would've found a way to see it, no question, lol.

Hanson Angel I feel a bit old here..lol..like you I started watching it as it was being put out the first time around in the 80's. I can't remember what episode or when I started watching it but Johnny Depp was in it so it had to be either season 2 or 3. Anyway, my daughter and I found it one Sunday night at 7 at night and started to watch it every week. It was our show together and we'd curl up and watch it. I always liked that Holly did sing the show's song too. Later on I feel in love with Johnny and started watching some of his movies. Now my daughter brought the memory of us watching the show due to hearing about a possible movie. Her memories of it and the special time we had watching the show. I found it on Hulu Tv and started watching it until I found it on a site with all 5 seasons at a great price and ordered one for my daughter and one for me. She didn't know it was coming and called me up all excited when she opened it up..lol.....That's my story and I'm stickin' to it..lol...Sue |

Aww that's so sweet about surprising your daughter with it! Thank you she loved it , the show was one of the many special things we did together when she was small. I was a single parent so she looks at those times just as special as I do....thanks again Leanne that make me feel good. Sue |
