So just as a general discussion, what did everyone think of Penhall's character throughout the series?
From somewhat goofy guy in the beggining to adopting a child by the end, what did you all think of where he started, and where he ended up?
(And hey, in what episode did Clavo (his adopted kid) show up in anyway?)

I edited the title of the post to correct the typo I thought it was good, he was still Penhall, just a more mature version. I wish there'd have been some resemblance of continuity in regards to his childhood though. If memory serves me correctly Clavo showed up in "La Bizca" and I don't know if Penhall officially adopted him or just took him home to the States as he was Clavo's Uncle.

You're right Marta's sister throws Clavo at Doug to take him to the US so he can live safe and have a good life and that's in LaBizca. Funny how Penhall grows up and all the time Hanson is saying to him through out season 3 and 4. I believe Hanson was talking about how "we can't do this forever and we need to grow up." And how Dorothy wanted him to grow up and he tried to do it. Yet it wasn't until he had Clavo that I believe he really mature. I also agree about the continuity of his character with his child hood. There should be some scarres with all he went through. Man, you grow up with Alcoholism and you have a different life and also being a survivor of sucide in his life is another ball game. When he told Hanson about it it's true about the guilt and feeling like it was his fault his mom killed herself and the bargaining to get her back. I know about these things and the writers can say he may hid this stuff but you can't hide it that well. Maybe the immaturity could be a bit of it but a person under the stress he is or just as a person would show signs here and there of being an Adult Child of an Acoholic. Sue

Hi, it's the episode Leanne said in season 4. And what about Fan fiction ? I don't know if you read it or not but fans do tag an episode especially when they don't think it's finished or tells enough. A lot of good stories from them and there are fan fics on here and on FFnet and some other places on the inter net. This is if you do read or want to start and find those sequels, and fan fiction writers call them tags just so you know when you read it. I did't when I started to read...lol.....took me a bit to figure it out..... ;D Sue

Hey you guys Marta's sister threw Clavo at Doug to see if Clavo would fit in the USA. She had to see if he liked sports like Baseball, basketball and football. Those 3 sports you throw balls and all she had was Clavo......ok, a big boo on that one? I thought it was funny when I think of her throwing him in my mind I see him in the air...lol......Sue

One of the best developed characters on television IMO.
I can't watch early season1 episodes anymore because he seems so different in attitude, I prefer him when he and Hanson become best friends.

I don't know I like him in the beginning and how it shows them getting together. How they show Hanson starting to slowly fit in with the team. And in the pilot Hanson does say something in an off way about what's her deal or something like that. So he was interested in Judy. Jenko told him he couldn't handle her....lol......
Again though for me I like to watch not only Hanson starting to fit in to the team but how they all come together in the first 6 episodes. When Fuller pulls the unit together and makes them more tight, rules and setting up the building more like an office with even more people it now gives them guide lines. So I do like to watch Jenko he was a character and Tom with his notes and all , loved it..lol....but then Penhall changes with the rules and guidelines and protocal and Hanson slips a bit here and there. Like in Blindsided with Diane Nelson and typing that letter for Doug so he isn't involved..lol.....Now Doug was the one who wanted to do it all right and Tom wanted to find out more..lol.....
I just can't watch season 5 at all, it's just to strange without Ioki and Hanson. So I never saw how Penhall was with Joey his brother, when he came aboard or if you see Clavo in season five. The four footer must be in a few of them, especially to meet uncle Joey? Sue

Penhall and Joey are about the only reason I ever watch season 5. I enjoyed the character of Doug. He was funny but it was always very touching when they gave him more serious material. I always liked when the writers flirted with the idea of a Penhall and Hoffs romance. I believe it was an episode in season 2?

Oh I don't mind season 5 too much. McCann grew on me too but "Brothers" with Joey and Doug is definitely the best ep from S5 in my opinion.

Yeah McCann wasn't terrible. He had the main storyline in a few s5 episodes that I really liked.
