I know someone on here said they have this vhs tape but I couldn't find the thread so I started this one. I have been on Ebay buying up a storm..lol....I found this and got it. I never realized how many times they have to shoot a scene so that the camera will be on one person or persons in order to edit it together and get everyone's close ups and expressions on what is going on. They showed around the Christmas table and did that many times and even cut out a few lines Johnny had which I liked. Fuller asks Tom if he is having trouble cutting the turkey and if he needs help. Penhall takes the fork and knife away from Hanson and gives it to Fuller who gets up to cut the bird. Now what was cut out was Tom moves away and says that his Dad had always cut it and Mrs. Hanson just looks over at Tom.
then they do the scene in the kitchen with all the kids and how they have to shoot each kid, Johnny and Dorthey (Amy) but it's so funny to hear the people telling the kids "Throw the food at Johnny" and then to Sal Jr. he takes the glass plate and empties it and then does like his father and the people again tell him to turn and do it towards Johnny. There is one where Johnny covers a smile at the kids, cute but quick. And then they come to the house to trim the tree and they shot that so many times at different angles. But they cut from the gang at the door to sitting down.
Now I hate that cause they cut out this really cute part between Doug and Tom. Mrs. Hanson answers the door and Amy gives her the gift and they all go to sit down leaving Tom and Doug the last standing a bit from the door and Doug tells Tom that he didn't trim the tree that his mom did it by herself. Tom elbows Doug in the stomach and then Mrs. Hanson explains why she did it . That part was funny and cute there was a little bit more to it but I loved it . Of course right after I had to watch the episode to see what was cut and how the different angles were edited together. I really enjoyed watching that. Sue

yes, they should have kept it in ! It took so long, so many takes, I felt sorry for the actors! They only done a short dinner scene D: yes me tool:)
