I'm writing as I watch so be prepared for random observations.

This is how long it's been since I watched 21 Jump Street - I forgot the season 1 theme was totally different from the others. I much prefer the later theme.Hey it's that guy! The Dad, he's from Star Trek and was in The A Team. Ah, broadening my viewing habits has served me well.I like how many guest stars who were on The A Team were brought back in for 21 Jump Street.

I think Kenny was my favourite guest star. I'm glad he got to come back in a later episode. Waxer always reminds me of Michael Jackson. I have no idea why. Perhaps his voice and the hair.

Aw Hanson, you're such an adorable dork in season 1, and your hair is amazing.

Oh blatant Audio replacement dubs, I forgot these. Even the A Team were allowed to say "Jack ass" poor Hanson has to say tail.

I always loved the whole scene between Kenny and Hanson and their conversation about being afraid, some great lines, I particularly like "Ok but what happens if they come back?"

The A Team has made me realise where there's stunt doubles in 21 Jump Street now lol!

"You said we were in pursuit, I'm pursuing!" Aww Hanson lol!

Hanson really is babyfaced. Bless him.

See really Charlie should have sent Hanson to call it in.

Bless Charlie's lovely with Hanson. They have a great mentoring relationship.

"What am I doing? I don't even smoke!" LOL! Oh the hilarity.

Does Hanson ever play the saxaphone again? It's such an odd choice of instrument for him.

Ah Jenko, I much prefer Fuller to him. Everythings so laidback.

Blatant chemistry between Hoffs and Hanson, always bemused me why that never went anywhere.

I actually prefer the song they use on the DVD for Hanson's transformation montage over the one on the original pilot.

I usually try pausing in the record shop to see what the "cool" records are supposed to be, can never work it out though.

Ioki's rather unnecessarily snipey.

So Hanson gets in trouble for the arrest, because they're socks but the dude pulled a gun on him, I *think* that's the charge Jenko!

I do like we get to see the briefing scene, I can't really recall many more like that.

Considering Hanson gives off this nerdy image as a cop he goes pretty bad ass pretty fast as soon as he gets into school and into it with Waxer.

"This is the only precinct in the department that has recess!"

Who is Steve Garvey? Pop culture references sort of make me miss some of the jokes.

I do love how Hanson has notes though.

I wish the music used were real tracks, I rather like the one playing as Kenny's being pursued by Hanson and Ioki.

Ioki's stuntdouble who drives the car back from the lampost is white!

And how did Hanson get in the back seat?

Hanson undercover in school is like the Faceman of 21 Jump Street. Girls just flock to him.

Schmoa! such a fun word.

What on earth does Hanson have on his pizza? Mustard?

I think I like the first part of the pilot better than the second. Also it's interesting to see Ioki and Hanson paired together considering it goes on to be Hanson/Penhall so often.

I do like the whole drink conversation Hanson has with the bartender.

What does Hanson give the taxidriver?

I always feel sorry for Kenny when they give him the drugs. I feel less sorry for him when the doofus takes them in school.Dumb enough to be on drugs but who's stupid enough to take them in school?

Oh totally forgot about Hanson bitchslapping Kenny, not once but twice. For someone who was so gungho about procedure he seems pretty swift to break it.

I love that the set moves when Penhall busts the door in.

LOL! Johnny almost fell over just after he gets out of the car and takes off running! Never noticed that before.

I think Hanson/Hoffs was set up at the start, it just never paid off.

Ick overly obviously preachy at the end there with Kenny and Noreen and the parents chat.

Nice shades Hanson :-P

I never got why Penhall was so anti-Hanson here either.

The ending doesn't work without the original credits either.

And that's my ramble over!

Hey I hope more people start doing this. Well I think I'll do like you Leanne I decided to put the pilot in the dvd player and have my lap top right here.

PART ONE OF PILOT

First off I'd like to know how the car was not picked up by the cops? They haven't changed it over so the plates are the same.
Oh wait Charlie said something about knowing it wouldn't be reported because it would be too much attention....lol

Love when Charlie gives Tom the coffees to got to the Wekerlies (sp) house and it spills all over him. Poor Tommy and he isn't wet when they get there..lol....Oh and his JFK hair cut as Jenko called it.

And Charlie talking about you leave and not get involved in the calls Tom is talking about....lol..And he is such a nerd like you said Leanne. But I haven't gotten to his make over yet...lol....

I love Charlie "Hanson just don't kill me and remember my condition." You have to love Charlie....But you are right Charlie should have stayed and Hanson should have made the call especially since he had to be told to take out his gun...lol. oh boy I forgot they took the police care from Hanson, but love that punch for the other guy saying he feels like a child
molester. And then the third broken nose. Good for Charlie sticking up for him.

They make mention in several episodes about Vice, over the seasons. But the captain talking to Hanson talks about Vice and the pink jackets..

Oh yeah I forgot about him having a cigarette and says he doesn't smoke.

Oh is the chief Hanson's father's partner?

I wish they put the sax or the guitar in more often. I like how he thinks about his dad and has the old tape from his father's voice. And then decides to do Jump street but OMG he is a nerd there at first...lol....I bet Johnny hated playing that...lol....

Love when Tom comes in and Doug yells about being Busted and how informal theplace is. Oh the turbo charge the hair you look like Richie Cuttingham..lol....

I loved Jenko, yeah Fuller did make things more organized and pulled the unit together. But love Jenko's causual take on things and he is so good at teaching them how to be kids again.

I love how Hoffs teaches Tom to be a teenager again and the way they look at each other you know I think they should have gotten together. Hanson admits he likes her after he chases and gets the perp..lol.They are so cute in the arcade and record store......boy I love them together and how she give him her earring......they should have gotten together.

When Hanson busts Jase it's not because he had a gun on him but Jase started making fun of how young he looks and that just get's Hanson's blood.

I just LOVE also the part where they are trying to fix Judy's car and Hanson comes along and fixes it quickly...lol..and them joking about her car.....

nothing like breaking Hanson in by him fighting and getting tough with Waxler. I love the fight and Hanson's poor Mustang but love how he writes on the car Wexer got from Kenny's dad..lol....

ok end of part one I have to rate this a 8 out of a 10

PART TWO
Yeah Kenny is stealing to get that money for Waxler. I forget they don't have the alarm systems and CCTV like now .

Oh I just love the beginning how they chill for the day by playing and then Hanson with his boring nots and the procedure.....lol....He's republician that's too funny and as Tom say he's the only cop in the department with recess.....lmao Yeah and I don't rememer who Steve Garvey is either but sounds familiar.....oh and I love Doug's 'One Adam 12"

So funny I had to laugh about Harry taking his car to follow Kenny....lol.

Poor Hanson he is always up against his father and how young he looks. Again someone brings up his father, Ioki asking about the medal and Hanson tells him it was for getting killed, always make me feel sad.

Gotta love the chase, don't they have a siren? Ioki is chasing Kenny and a cop is chasing them when he should have a siren and a light that sticks to the top of the car. I always wondered about that. In one episode Hanson has a light and siren. I never understood that. Funny thought that Charlie is the one that chases them.....lol..I didn't notice the stunt double but maybe Tom fell back there at least that is the way they make it look.

Yes, I agree about the Shmow word it's like the 50's saying. Oh and I love with Wendy and he finally has to tell her he has herpes...lol....

I never noticed in all the times I've watched this that when he reads the play with Kenny that he says 'Uh oh" under his breath.


I love it with Hanson jumps in the taxi and the driver says let me guess follow that car? lol.....and Tom goes into his rant. Poor taxi gets totaled buy hitting Waxer's car and then he see poor Hanson "are you following me" lol.....Some good parts in this episode. And I didn't remember to look to see what Hanson gave him, sorry.

OMG Jenko still has a dial phone, that is too cool, I love the old things.

Waxer is a jerk giving that speed ball mix to Kenny to kill him.......Well to answer your question I know that people I knew and twice I got high in school cause we didn't like the class. Drugs made it more tolerable if the drugs still allowed you to function or you weren't an addict. I remember in class one time hearing two guys talk about taking acid 15 mnutes before school ended...I remember being so scared.

Oh how I remember how parents where back then, push it under the carpet and we'll play golf you and the old man that would make things better.

Wow, Hanson slaps Kenny and that isn't allowed, I forgot that part it shocked me.

And you're right Leanne what is it with the word TAIL? I've only heard the word used for , excuse me but a piece of "butt" or a good looking tail meaning a girl's bum.

Ah, running the van through the wall is the BEST part!
Gotta love Doug's hair in this shot out....Nice move with Hanson running Waxer over and then running after him that is the best part. I have to say Canada Subways are sooo clean! And now Hanson gets Waxer in an all out fight. now see Jenk has a light and siren.

"Whoo when they say White boys aren't fast" And then Judy says how she likes that in that in a man...lol.....

Now we see Hanson in nerdy clothes after how he was dressed in the school. Boy I hate how he is dressed here.

Hanson gets 3 collars.....poor Doug, he is so impressed. I just love him playing wih Jenk's band. But those clothes have to go, yuk. Johnny probably hated those clothes so much..lol

Ok so I have to give this part a 9 out of 10 bcause of the action and them becoming a team.

Ahh a guy's package like you could say Michael Jackson grabbed his tail while dancing? lol.......Sorry I didn't read over my review and found a lot of mispelled words.
Well I hope you understood what we say tail is in the State. Over the pond it has the two meanings...lol.....but I never used it, or heard much use of it.

Thanks I enjoyed your review and tried to answer a few of the questions you ask.

When's the next one? And where are the other's like Sonya, Florecist and read a few new memeber's joined would love to see what they have to say about the episodes and some of the original members, would be interesting. But until then it's just you and me Leanne and I think this is great. So again let me know when the next one opens I want to watch and review at the same time cause I don't think I could remember it all....

Oh and it would be cool to do a comment in a chat room as we all watch the episode. We have a channel here where they do that they play a show and it's a lot of the time Star Trek and you can log onto the channel and type in things and other's talk with you about what's going on and it's at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately we can do that cause we can all watch at the same time and would start the disk at different times. I have the all 5 seasons in one and the first season starts with the song and then does the whole show, well the ones with Jenk in it anyways....

Love the ramblings. I've noticed so much of that from the first time I saw the episodes (unfortunately, I didn't even exist when Jump Street was originally on the air -- I'm a 90s child) so I just have the entire show on DVD, but it's great being able to watch it whenever. A lot of these made me laugh. I've always wondered why Hoffs/Hanson didn't take off as well, and most of the fanfics over on FF.net are Tom/Doug slash . . . *shudders*
