Oh he does look gorgeous eating the chips. I loved how well Booker, Hanson & Penhall got on I was really sad when Booker left. I was like " You just started being friends!!"
Exactly. . .worst thing they could've done -- give Booker his own show (which tanked ) -- they must've known they couldn't hold onto Johnny forever (this WAS the 4th season, he'd made his unhappiness very clear by now) and they could've let him out and kept Grieco on with Deluise -- now that I would've liked to watch, even after Johnny was gone because I ws already liking Booker and it wouldn't have been like he was replacing Hanson because he was already there. Plus, he was an interesting character, at least in my opinion. Ha-ha, I should've been running that show, don't you think? ;D

Yes. Yes you should! I bet you would have let Johnny run with the peanut butter fetish idea....I know I would have. It'd have kept him sweet til the last season I bet....letting him run amock! The thing is some of the stuff he suggested probably would have worked. Like having Hanson slowly go mad seemed promising. That would have made a great storyline in season 4.

they should have had Hanson going mad instead of Ioki's pill addiction... because although I think Ioki should have had more storylines, that one just made him irritating. From the point where Tom watches Quincy die, they should have had him slowly appearing to lose it, and shift Booker to be Penhall's partner. Ioki could spent time trying to help Hanson, but ultimately realize that maybe it was the job that was insane and not Hanson, and they could have actually quit at the end instead of disappearing. Then Booker could have taken new person under his wing whilst Penhall and Hoffs faded into the background (like they did anyway), and Booker could have gone off on them at the end so that they ultimately had to close Jump Street down.
wow, I almost want to re-write season 4 now. I would mostly keep awomp and la bizca, but make it earlier on in the season, but most of the other season 4 episodes were a little expendable.

I probably would've let Johnny do quite a bit of what he wanted -- not just to keep him happy (or at least happier) but mainly because I would've been able to see just how talented and smart he really was and realize people would've watched him do just about anything on that show. . . ;D

You should write this -- fan fic is calling your name on this one!! LOL. Wow, your ideas are awesome -- much better than a lot of the story lines that actually took place. . .

I love those ideas! You should write it as a fanfic ;D
It bugged me how Hanson was slowly unravelling, you could so see it. He was so apathetic to police work, I don't know why they didn't just explore his time in prison and make it so he quit as a result of the trauma he'd endured. I mean was it just me or did every single person at 21 JS have some sort of dark secret in their childhood/adolescance or emotional upheavel during those four years ?
I hate the way the writers were never consistant or just glossed over things. Like in Season 3 I always assume Hoffs had an abortion in the episode " Who's choice is it anyway" yet nothing ever gets mentioned again. Amy dies in " Orpheous 3:3" Hanson swiftly gets over his obsession, and don't get me started on Penhall's upbringing. It's like they wrote a new childhood for him every season! Then there's Fuller who like Doug was abused and ah it just seems like they were cramming so many problems on the officers' personal lives as well as the teenagers in the show, not that I mind the angst and all just it would have been nice if it was either consistant or not swept under the rug!
Then again maybe the chapel was really cursed to bring you bad luck

Exactly! I mean who would you have been to stop Johnny dressing up as Elton John if he's reading the scripts it's all good!

that would have been a great write out for Ioki and Hanson, just their jobs getting too much for them, quitting together.. then possibly it could have been ioki running a bowling alley with hanson... instead of them just dissapearing without any explanation....
also.. some1 mentioned, penhall's background.. i'll never understand that in "whooley bullies" he's telling the story of him being bullied when he went to live with his uncle after his parents had died... yet in the episode in season 5 "Brothers" up pops Joey, having ran away when he was 15, because he couldn't handle his father drinking himself to death....
Just splitting the topic off from Steven Williams birthday thread as it was going majorly off topic ( mainly thanks to me lol)
so yes continuing the discussion of why the writers weren't the best here :

Oh gee Penhall's background is just screwy!
I mean in season 1 Doug tells Hanson that his brother went to college, in season 2 we find out that his mother killed herself and his father was a priest turned alcoholic who drank himself to death. In season 3 it turns out Doug's dad used to beat him when he was drunk only to be later informed that Doug went to live with his Aunt and Uncle after his father died....there's no mention of Joey. I can't remember if family's mentioned in season 4 for him or not but I do recall with great clarity Joey turning up in season 5 and them having their secret knock, Joey's ran away at 15 - making Penhall 17? yeah um so when did you go live with the Aunt and Uncle Dougie? Stupid inconsistent writers!
